The University of Georgia’s Hill Community was opened in 1961 and houses approximately 800 first year students amongst five buildings. May Architecture was engaged to renovate the interior of all five residence halls to modernize the first floor student amenity areas and the community restrooms. We embarked on this journey with a vision of prioritizing engagement among students and fostering a vibrant sense of togetherness.

The new design incorporates inviting communal areas that encourage interaction and collaboration. Today, we proudly present a space that not only pays homage to the past but also embraces the future. It’s a place where students from all backgrounds can thrive, connect, and create lasting memories.
