Design Beyond the Classroom

College architecture is part of the institutional culture, representing how our clients see themselves.

The campus is one big classroom. Learning and social development occur simultaneously and around the clock – between the lecture hall and the dining hall, and between the Lab and the Library. We approach each project – regardless of size or program – as part of the broader campus experience. We design spaces that foster emotional bonds and buildings that create transformational memories. For traditional and non-traditional students, staff, faculty, administration, and visitors: good design, like academic inquiry, cultivates connections.

CAMARADERIE, COLLABORATION AND CONSENSUS

Our first goal is to listen. One size does not fit all. Complex questions are best resolved when stakeholders come together to pause, reflect, and share diverse perspectives. We nurture ways to find common ground and enhance opportunities for teaching and learning.

ENGAGEMENT, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION

Student participation adds value. Virtual and in-person campus forums, online surveys, and pizza parties generate community feedback. We help our clients provide the facilities they need to support success for all students. Our process fosters a culture of respect, dignity and belonging.
