Gil May, AIA, IIDA, LEED AP
Principal, May Architecture

Gil May was raised in Atlanta and is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology. His career has involved projects spanning a wide range of scope and complexity, including higher education design, office interiors, complex medical and research facilities, and public schools. He is dedicated to excellence in architectural and interior design, and several of his projects have won design awards. Additionally, he is devoted to pursuing sustainable design principles in all projects. His professional approach is based on strong communication and extensive experience in coordinating complicated design and building processes with owners, contractors, and a wide range of consultants. His technical depth, quick problem-solving skills, and active personality are known to be especially helpful during today’s fast-paced construction process, where immediate responses are required for complex issues.

Jay Jenkins
Director of Operations, May Architecture

Jay is a Georgia native who has lived in the Atlanta area for over 20 years. He earned an undergraduate degree in Business Management and a graduate degree in Building Construction from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His extensive experience in planning and managing projects on the owner’s team in the private and higher education sectors has led to highly developed organizational, problem-solving, communication, and consensus building skills. His focus on business operations assists in the strategic planning and processes that provide the backbone for project success.

Emily Marvel, AIA

Emily received her Bachelors in Architecture from the University of Florida and her Masters in Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology. As a registered architect she has found continued inspiration in creating functional spaces that are perceived as inviting and comfortable. Her creative problem solving skills are the most influential asset to her process. Her experience in a variety of project types gives her a fresh perspective when beginning any project.

Shelly Attila, RID, IIDA, LEED AP
Higher Education Market Leader, Director of Interior Architecture, May Architecture

A graduate of Western Michigan University, with a B.S. of Interior Design, Shelly relocated to Atlanta in 2008. She spent the first six years of her career designing bio-containment and chemical containment laboratories across the globe including India, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico and the UK. The focus and problem solving skills learned from these detail oriented projects has helped her when approaching new design challenges. An intense passion for design combined with her technical background allows her to translate clients’ visions into reality.
