Urgent Care Centers play an important role in the healthcare ecosystem. They can help alleviate the demand on traditional emergency departments by providing care for immediate but non-life-threatening needs. This allows ED’s and their staff to prioritize more acute, life-threatening cases. They are also smaller and less costly to build. As a result, they are easier to embed in more communities – sometimes directly into multifamily, mixed-use developments. This truly brings healthcare closer to the patient.

Chamblee Urgent Care: A new 2,900 SF urgent care center in mixed-use development retail shell space. The project includes 6 exam rooms, a point-of-care testing lab, a procedure room and an X-ray room. The design incorporates a unique perimeter ceiling detail to maximize natural daylight of the transom windows along the exterior, but also maintains patient privacy at an active street level.

Snellville Urgent Care: A new 3,200 SF urgent care center in a single-story retail shopping center. The project includes 6 exam rooms, a point-of-care testing lab, a procedure room and an X-ray room. Existing windows are uncovered to increase natural daylight in the main waiting area.

Braselton Urgent Care: A new 2,900 SF urgent care center in a free-standing mixed-use building. The project includes 5 exam rooms, a point-of-care testing lab, a procedure room and an X-ray room. The space plan was developed to maximize the reutilization of existing building elements from the previous gym tenant in order to minimize new materials, construction, and cost.

Duluth Urgent Care: A new 3,200 SF urgent care center in an existing free standing building. The project includes 8 exam rooms, a procedure room, an X-Ray room, and centralized work station and point-of-care lab. Previously a fast-casual restaurant, the interior space received an extensive renovation to maximize the space for the anticipated busy center. The exterior received new paint, lighting, and awnings to convert the aesthetics for a refreshed look.
