As technology continues to expand, healthcare facilities constantly upgrade and repurpose the spaces and services that they provide. May Architecture has teamed with various clients on this very type of project. For example, May Architecture was engaged by Emory University Hospital Midtown to develop two Hybrid Operating Rooms. Several existing outdated CATH labs and secondary spaces were recaptured and from this space we were able to create two Hybrid CATH Operating Rooms with the associated sterile core, control rooms, PACU, storage, and staff support spaces.

The design of the Hybrid Operating Rooms allows for integration of the latest surgical and imaging equipment. The plan layout design by May Architecture provided ease of workflow in addition to allowing a 4k video technology that facilitates opportunities for collaboration between doctors, care providers, and visiting personnel. Clean design with updated material palette presents a modern and welcoming approach for the patients and staff of Emory University Hospital Midtown.
