The Piedmont Fischer Marketplace medical office building is designed for maximum clinical efficiency and flexibility. With its vertical circulation elements pushed to the edges of the building, the MOB provides a large contiguous healthcare platform, providing a deft framework for clinical layouts and future adaptability. The building is also designed to expand horizontally as the community’s healthcare needs grow.
An adult primary care practice is located on the first floor, providing ease of access and wayfinding for their most elderly patients. The second level pediatrics practice is accessed via the elevator and public stairs, and combined staff amenities and a centralized testing lab share the balance of the upper level.
The Piedmont Physician’s Group and May Architecture have been working for the past five years to provide a consistent Piedmont Healthcare branding experience in their clinics by creating and implementing interior finish standards. This project was challenged with expanding the standards for pediatrics. This was achieved by introducing dynamic wall coverings in focal areas, using alternate colorways to assist with wayfinding, while also providing a sophisticated and lively solution that works for both toddlers and teenagers.
